Instant pot brown rice

Instant Pot Brown Rice

Every one seems to make their Instant Pot brown Rice a little different. But, this is how I do it and it comes our perfectly fluffy every time!

Start with a cup of water at the bottom of the instant pot and the metal trivet. Instant pot brown rice

Next in oven safe bowl. ( That fits inside the Instant pot) place your water, rice, and butter.  stir.

I love this Pyrex one!

Mine is a 6 cup!  instant pot side dishes

Then place bowl on top of trivet inside the Instant Pot. Close lid, make sure valve is set to seal.

Set Manual for 19 minutes.

I usually let it Naturally Pressure Release a little bit, mostly because I get busy doing other things. But, if you are in a hurry you can manually release the pressure when it stops cooking.

Fluff with a fork, add salt to taste (and I usually add more butter too!)

My Favorite Instant Pot Accessory

This steamer basket is my favorite accessory for my instant pot…

This tool makes it easy to get veggies or small things out of the pot. you can use it for eggs too, really anything!!

This post has affiliate links, which means that shopping through them is an easy way for you to support us here at Loveandscribbles without costing you anything! Thanks

This Steamer basket!!

Today only it’s at a great price!!!  $8.50 (at time of posting) This deal will not last long so hurry and grab one!

This one fits your 6 or 8 qrt Instant pots

and you don’t need to use a trivet if you use these ones with the feet on it.

I really grab this accessory more than any other.. it’s just so much simpler than fishing out whatever you are cooking. And I love that the coating on the handle means it isn’t hot.

Throw your veggies in, or a whole batch of eggs. Even your whole potatoes for “baked Potatoes.”

Of course you can make all of those things without this basket, just use the trivet that came with your instant pot. But, it cannot be denied that baskets like this just help simplify an already easy recipe!

Do you have an instant pot accessory you love?

Happy Pressure cooking,

Deanna Grace

What do you use this awesome steam basket for? well, so many things Hard Boiled eggs, Garlic Parmesan Brussel Sprouts, green beans. What will you try next?

If you ever find yourself in need of seasonal relief read on about how I combat the symptoms of this wonderful season…

It’s Fall!

That means, cool air, beautiful colors, my favorite cozy clothes… and if you are like me it also means.. headaches, itchy eyes, ear aches, scratchy throat… etc.

For awhile it just became routine that once the wind started up, I would need antibiotics for ear infections and congestion.. almost annually. Definitely puts a damper on the wonder of the season.

But, now that I have young living oils available to me… I haven’t been on antibiotics for my seasonal issues in about 4 years!!! seriously!!

Here’s how I use my favorite oils for my most useful purpose!! Read More

Dinner help for back to school

Help With Dinner Time For Back To School Days!

Summer went by soooo quickly this year! It’s so crazy that it’s September already!
I know a lot of kids are back to school already, I’m avoiding it a little bit longer over here. 😉 But, the schedules are already filling up for fall time!

Most of us are looking for help with dinner time for these back to school days.

And these are the crazy days I’m so thankful to have dinner packed away in the freezer. I mean seriously, with piano lessons and Lego class (my guy is super excited about that one), homeschooling, and chasing around our 1-year-old.  Rushing us all off to Awana classes and MomStrong Bible Study… The last thing I can do is spend loads of time prepping and cooking dinner every single night!!!

So, in case dinner time is crazy for you too, I thought I’d share how we use our membership with Once A Month Meals to help!

Here’s how it we use it to Help with dinner time for back to school

I love love love using my Instant Pot with my freezer meals.. guys, you don’t even have to remember to thaw your dinner!!!!! If you use your crock pot as much as I use to, you know that it’s a super bummer when you forget to get out your meat or whatever for your crock pot to be able to cook it all day long for you…. so in comes the joy of the Instant pot! Seriously, from the freezer.. some of my meals are as quick as 20 minutes from freezer to table! I’m not even kidding! This has been a game. changer. over. here. 🙂

So, Here’s what I do.
